Why this merge & split tool
🔒 Private by design
Your PDFs are processed entirely in your browser and are never uploaded. Combine contracts or split scans without them leaving your device.
✨ Lossless output
No rasterization: text, fonts, vector graphics and images are copied verbatim. Merged and split files keep the exact quality of the originals.
📦 One-click ZIP
Split into dozens of files and get them all in a single ZIP. A split that yields one file downloads as a plain PDF instead.
How to merge or split a PDF
- Pick a mode. Merge combines many PDFs into one; Split breaks one PDF into several.
- Merge: drop in your PDFs, drag them into the right order, remove any you don't need, then click Merge. The summary shows the file count, total pages and combined size.
- Split: open a PDF and choose how — by custom ranges (e.g. 1-5, 6-12, 13-25), one file per page, fixed chunks of N pages, or extract a single range like 15-42.
- Download. A single result comes as a PDF; multiple results are bundled into a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I merge PDF files?
- Switch to Merge, drop in two or more PDFs, drag them into the order you want, and click Merge. A single combined PDF is generated and downloaded. Pages are copied as-is, so quality is unchanged.
- How do I split a PDF?
- Switch to Split and open a PDF. Choose a mode: by custom ranges (e.g. 1-5, 6-12), one file per page, fixed chunks of N pages, or extract a single range. Multiple outputs are packed into a ZIP; a single output downloads as a PDF.
- Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
- No. Everything runs locally in your browser. Your files never leave your device, which makes the tool safe for confidential documents.
- Will merging or splitting reduce quality?
- No. Pages are copied between documents without rasterization — text, fonts, vector graphics and images are preserved exactly. Only the composition of the documents changes.
- What ranges are valid when splitting?
- Use formats like 1-5, 8-12, 20-30. Ranges must stay within the document, the first page must be less than or equal to the last, and ranges must not overlap. Clear messages explain any mistake.
- How do I get several PDFs at once?
- When a split produces more than one file, they are bundled into a single ZIP archive you can download in one click. A split that yields exactly one file downloads as a plain PDF.
