Frequently asked questions

What does the Document Inspector show?
A full dashboard: summary, per-page statistics, text analysis, the font list with embedding/subset info, every image with DPI and reuse, tables, forms, layers, metadata, attachments, security, bookmarks, hyperlinks, a low-level object breakdown, optimization opportunities, recommendations and a quality/pre-flight report.
Which file types can it analyze?
PDF directly, plus DOC, DOCX, ODT, RTF, TXT, XLS, XLSX, ODS, PPT, PPTX, ODP and images (JPG, PNG, TIFF, WebP, SVG). Non-PDF files are converted to PDF first.
Can I export the report?
Yes — as JSON, CSV, a styled HTML page, or a PDF report.
Does it tell me how to improve the file?
Yes. It highlights over-resolution and duplicate images, missing fonts, missing Fast Web View, removable metadata and more, estimates the possible size saving, and points you to the right tool for each fix.
Is my document private?
PDFs are analyzed in your browser. An optional deep-metrics call and any office/scan conversion run on our own server and the file is deleted immediately after.
How big a document can it handle?
Analysis runs asynchronously and in stages with a progress bar, so large documents are handled without freezing the interface.
