Why this comparison tool

🔍 Every kind of change

Text added, removed, changed or moved; images replaced, resized or repositioned; pages inserted, deleted or reordered; layout and metadata changes — each found by its own comparison module.

👀 Side-by-side clarity

Original and modified render next to each other with synced scrolling and zoom. Jump between differences with one click — both panes follow automatically.

📊 Three reports

Download a JSON diff for integrations, a Difference PDF with changed areas framed in color, or a summary PDF report with statistics and thumbnails of changed pages.

How to compare two documents

  1. Add both versions. PDF, DOC, DOCX, ODT, RTF or TXT — non-PDF files are converted automatically, and scans are OCR'd.
  2. Choose what matters. Text, images, layout, metadata — plus ignore-whitespace, ignore-case, ignore-page-order and content-only modes.
  3. Review side by side. Colored highlights mark each change; the diff list and Previous/Next buttons jump straight to them.
  4. Download a report. JSON for automation, or annotated and summary PDFs for people.

Frequently asked questions

How do I compare two PDF files?
Drop the original into the left slot and the modified version into the right slot, choose what to compare and click Compare. Differences appear side by side with colored highlights — green added, red removed, yellow changed, blue frames for images.
Can I compare Word documents?
Yes. DOC, DOCX, ODT, RTF and TXT are converted to PDF automatically via the built-in Document Converter, then compared. You can even compare a Word file against a PDF.
Does it work with scanned documents?
Yes. When one of the documents is a scan, the built-in OCR pipeline recognizes its text automatically and the comparison runs on the recognized text.
What reports can I download?
A JSON report with the structured list of all differences, a Difference PDF where changed areas are framed in color, and a PDF Report with statistics, the change list and thumbnails of changed pages.
Are my documents private?
PDF-to-PDF comparison runs entirely in your browser. Office files and scans use our own conversion/OCR server and are deleted immediately after — nothing is stored.
Can it handle reordered pages?
Yes. Enable “Ignore page order” and pages are matched by content instead of position, so moved pages are reported as moved rather than as a wall of changes.
